Ryan Cleckner appears with Mark Steyn on Fox News to discuss Elizabeth Warren’s proposal to drastically increase the tax on firearms and ammunition.

Ryan explains the current firearm excise tax system and he points out that a tax on a fundamental right is not only a Constitutional issue, it disproportionately would affect individuals with lower incomes (who arguably may need access to their own self-defense firearm if they live in higher-crime areas).

Ryan also addresses the criticism he hears of his “criminals don’t obey laws” argument: so why have any laws? Ryan argues that laws are necessary, however, let’s not add a lesser law that infringes on law abiding citizens when a stiffer-penalty law is not preventing mass shootings from happening.
