Those of you that have the book might recognize this picture. This is from 2002 during my second deployment to Afghanistan. This pic is proof of how much I loved that Mk12 SPR – I carried it instead of the stack of other guns I brought with me.
And “stack” is not hyperbole – I’ll try to find a pic we took of the stack of pelican cases for each different rifle (M24, SR-25, M82, SPR, M4, etc.) each of us took over there.
Logistical nightmare keeping track of guns, scopes, lasers, ammo, mags…. first time in my life I realized I had too much gear.
